Printing a Spare Parts Book
Spare Parts Book
You can print a spare parts book from a main assembly or a subassembly. The spare parts book is opened as a PDF file in the Adobe Reader application.
Table of contents is automatically collected based on spare parts drawings created from subassemblies.
- Print out a spare parts book from either of the following:- Open the product's main assembly in the working window.
- Open the subassembly in the working window.
 
- Move the cursor to the working window.
- Select the context-sensitive function Other Exports> Spare Parts Book.
- Select the pair of languages in which the spare parts will be printed on the pages of the book.- 1: The selected language is displayed first.
- 2: The selected language is displayed second.
 
- Confirm the language selections.
- The finished spare parts book will open in the Adobe Reader application.Viewing the spare parts book is more convenient if you change certain settings in the Adobe Reader application. 
Note: 
  - If you have printed the same spare parts book before, close the old PDF file before reprinting the spare parts book.
- If there are problems in printing the spare parts book, the software will write an error log in the home directory named user/SpBookErrorLog.txt. Open the file for viewing.
- Vertex automatically names the PDF file. For example, SP-Ex400PipeAssy-FI-EN.pdf.The file name is formed as follows: SP-AssemblyLabel-SelectedLanguagePair.pdf. 
- The spare parts book is saved as a PDF file in the Shared/projects folder of the active project, or the general archive Shared/picts, depending on whether the model in question was saved in the general archive or a project archive.
