Edit Component
You can edit the geometry of a component added to a drawing or the geometry of a drawing specific component using a dimension table.
The use of the dimension table is based on the component's dimension constraints which are controlled by modifying the values of the table variables.
- On the tab, in the Symbols group, select Edit Component.
- Select a component.
- Edit the dimension table data of the component in the dimension table.
- Edit the geometry by selecting a table ID in the list. The ID will be used to define the variable values.
- If no table IDs have been defined, you can enter new values in the Value fields of the variables.
- You can update the changes to the preview image by clicking the Preview button, if automatic updates are not enabled.
- Add data for a new component in the dimension table as follows:
- Edit the values of dimension variables in the table. Name the table ID and, and click the Add button. You can also delete data.
- You can allow the editing of the component only by using table IDs by selecting the Selected from list checkbox.
- Alternatively, you can load the dimension table data from an ASCII file by clicking the Import button.
- Click OK.
Select a component and then select the context-sensitive function, Edit Component. You can also open a component for editing by double-clicking it.
