Edge Symbol in Mechanical Drawings
Add an edge symbol to a drawing. Add an Edge Symbol
For example:
Edge symbol, direction: symmetric
Outer edge general symbol, direction: down
Inner edge general symbol, direction: up |
Theory of mechanical drawing
- Plus value in the outer edge: Burr is allowed i.e. bevel or round is not allowed.
- Plus value in the inner edge: Undermachining i.e. bevel or round is allowed, but overmachining i.e. machining into the edge is not allowed.
- Minus value in the outer edge: Burr is not allowed. The edge must have overmachining i.e. bevel or round.
- Minus value in the inner edge: The edge must have overmachining i.e. machining into the edge. Bevel or round is not allowed.
- Plus-minus value in the outer edge: Burr or overmachining i.e. bevel or round is allowed.
- Plus-minus value in the inner edge: Undermachining or overmachining is allowed.
- The value and it's sign are generally located inside the corner, so that symbol's shape is symmetric.
- The value and it's sign may be located above or on the right side of the symbol, if you want to define for example the direction of outer edge's burr or inner edge's overmachining.
