Export a Project to Another G4 System
You can compress the data of one or more projects selected from the project archive as separate VXZ files.
The function exports also the data concerning the project's models and drawings and REV* directories with their files belonging to the project from the revision directories (d_PIC_REV ja d_MOD_REV).
Actually the transfer file is a ZIP file, but with vxz suffix its easier to recognize a Vertex project among the all ZIP files. You can edit the VXZ file as other ZIP files.
Export Projects
- Select Archives | Projects | Export.
- Enter the project search data. You can search all projects by leaving the fields blank and pressing OK.
- Select one or several projects in the list. You can select all projects or clear all selections by clicking the All/None button. Select from a List
- If you selected one project, select a folder into which the VXZ file is saved and name the file. If you selected several projects, select a folder into which all the VXZ files are saved. The VXZ files will be named after the project. Naming a File
- Select Save or OK.
- The program will report the progress of compressing and will report when it is done. Select OK.
The VXZ file contains
- Archives data of the project.
- Model and drawing files belonging to the project.
- Archives data of the models and drawings.
- The revision files of the model or drawing saved in the project folder and other documents, for example DXF files.
The VXZ file does not contain
- Assembly's models that belong to other projects.
Note:
- A project compressed with this function can be imported to the G4 system.
- We recommend to export models with their drawings instead of exporting a project between Vertex G4 systems.
- The project folder or files belonging to it cannot be moved from one Vertex system to another in Windows File Explorer by using the Drag and Drop method. The reason for this is that the archive data and documents are managed using Vertex databases, and this information is lost when using the drag and drop method.
