Read a Component

General

  • Select auxiliary functions before clicking the location of a component.
  • You can, for example, change the reference point or mirror the component.
  • A component added from the library is local, i.e. it has no associativity to the original library component. In other words, changes made to the component in the library are not updated to the component added to the drawing.

Read and Place a Component

  1. Select Drawing | Symbols > Read Component.
    • You can also use keyboard shortcuts to open the symbol browser from the desired locations.
    • The program opens the dialog box Select Symbol/Component.
    • The program also opens the dialog box Dimension Table.
  2. Select a component by double-clicking it
  3. Select a dimension table row or edit the dimensions of the component.
    • If a dimension table has been saved for the 2D component, you can select a dimension table row on the left side of the dialog box, above the dimension table, with the preset button .
    • Use the Preview or Browser image tab to view the component.
    • Dimension Table Data.
  4. Confirm the selections by clicking OK.
  5. Click a location or locations for the component.
    • If necessary, select the auxiliary functions by opening the context-sensitive menu with the right mouse button, when the symbol appears in the lower right corner of the cursor.
  6. Stop adding similar components
    • Press the V key or
    • Press the middle mouse button or
    • Select the context-sensitive function OK.
    • The program opens the dialog box Select Symbol/Component.
  7. Select another component and repeat steps 3 to 6 to continue adding.
  8. Stop adding components
    • Press the Esc key or
    • select another function when a component is still "hanging" in the cursor.
