Paste from the Clipboard 2D

  • In the assembly model, paste parts or assemblies on the clipboard to the assembly.
  • Paste in the part model the feature on the clipboard to the part.
  • Paste in the sketch, the feature on the clipboard, to the sketch.
  •  Paste in the sketch, the feature on the clipboard, to the sketch.

As an example, Drawing.

  1. On the tab, in the Clipboard group, select Paste.
  2. Click a reference point.
  3. Click a postion.
  4. Select Confirm.

In Context-sensitive Menu

Paste elements on the clipboard to an open drawing or a model by selecting the context-sensitive menu function Clipboard> Paste.

Add elements on the clipboard by selecting elements ant the context-sensitive function.

  • Clipboard> Cut
  • Clipboard> Copy

If the clipboard is empty, the Paste is not available.

  1. Do either of the following:
    • Select the context-sensitive function Clipboard> Paste.
    • Press Ctrl+V.
  2. In a drawing a dashed line is drawn from the reference point when the cursor is close to vertical or horizontal or at a 45-degree angle. The cursor will then change into a symbol indicating that you can constrain the cursor in the direction in question.
    • Lock the cursor in the desired direction by clicking the left mouse button.
    • You can prevent the direction constraint by pressing the Alt key when clicking the location.
  3. Select a location for the element.

Before selecting the location, you can select auxiliary functions, rotate the element, for example.

You can set an element to the desired angle by selecting the angle value from the Angle list on the contextual toolbar. The angle affects in relation to the selected reference point.

Note:
  • In a drawing, you can also lock the cursor other than a reference point by resetting the coordinates to the desired point by pressing Q. For more information Setting the Local Origin.
  • With the function Clipboard > Paste, you can paste elements copied in the drawing to the sketch of the part model.
  • You can rotate a part or change insertion point before selecting the position for the part.
  • Before selecting a position for an element, you can define the layer on which they are placed. Elements can be placed on the original layer or a layer selected from the Layer menu on the contextual toolbar, and you can also shift the element layers.
