Paste a Feature From the Clipboard to a Part
General
- You can paste a cut or copied feature on the clipboard to a part.
- If the clipboard is empty, the function Paste Feature is not available
- A sketch-based feature will be positioned using the point that was selected when copying or cutting the feature.
- A library feature is positioned from its grip point, or if there is none, it is positioned from the origin of the library feature.
- A feature can be pasted to a surface, line, or point. After positioning the feature, you can move the feature if necessary using the constraints of the sketch.
Starting point
- A feature has been cut or copied to the clipboard.
- The part model where you want to paste the feature is active.
Paste the feature on the clipboard to the part model
- Select the context-sensitive function Paste Feature.
- If necessary, rotate the feature with the functions of the auxiliary menu.
- Right or left.
- 90°, 15°, or the angle you enter.
- Click a surface, line, or point on which to position the feature.
- The feature is positioned on a surface, line, or point.
Exact location of the pasted feature
If you positioned the feature on a surface, modify the sketch of the feature and position it in place using the constraints:
- Select the sketch of the feature in the feature tree.
- Select the context-sensitive function Edit.
- Add the required constraints.
- OK.
If you positioned the feature on a line, you can specify the position on the line as follows:
- Select the sketch of the feature in the feature tree.
- Select the context-sensitive function Relocate.
- The dialog box Connect a Sketch opens.
- If necessary, you can connect the feature to another line by selecting a line from the list and selecting Change and clicking a new line.
- OK.
- A dialog box asking for the relative position opens.
