Drawing Revision Control

You can freeze revisions of models and drawings created with this software, which also includes basic tools for revision control. For more demanding revision control we recommend Vertex Flow software.

Save the drawing revision

You can save the drawing geometry as a revision during the desired modeling phase. A drawing can have a revision from the same phase as a part or an assembly it is connected to, or it can have revisions that are completely separate.

The drawing file on the disk will be saved in the revision, not the graphics displayed on the screen.

The revision is saved in the project or the common drawing folder in its own folder, Rev_label. You can continue drawing after saving a revision, but you should note that these phases will not be saved in the previous revision. Naturally, you can save new revisions of the drawing later.

You can also log only those changes made to the drawing as a new revision so that no drawing file is included at all.

Revisions of a model are created separately using the function in the model's archives data. The revision label of the model and the revision label of the drawing connected to it should be named using the same label for uniformity's sake.

You can save a revision of the active drawing in the working window as follows:

  1. On the tab, in the Documents group, click Data.
  2. Click Revisions. A window for defining the revision data opens.
