Save Changes

General

  • The document can be an archived document or a document read into the working window using a file name. This function also saves any changes made in the document's archives data.
  • When the document to be saved is a model whose drawings have been opened, the drawings can also be saved when saving the model.
  • When you create a new drawing for the model, remember to save the model as well, so that the information about the drawing is saved in the model's feature tree.
  • When saving the drawing, the file also stores information about the active layers, layers to be printed, layer groups and the properties of the elements used in the drawing. When the drawing is opened next time, the layers will be activated and elements will be drawn according to this data.

Save the changes you made

  • Select Save from the quick access toolbar or
  • select the function File > Save or
  • press Ctrl+S.

Save an unnamed document

If you started a new document without entering a label for it, use the function
  • File > Save as New, if you want to save it to the archive.
  • File > Save, if you want to save it to a directory in which case it will not be found in the archive.

Edit the document archive data, if necessary

If saving fails

  • Saving may fail due to network interruptions, for example.
  • The saving process proceeds as follows, so you can try to save an unfinished saving
  • In the example below, the archive label of the model is Ex_Model
  1. The model is saved in the user's work folder ./user/workfile.vxm
  2. If the previous saving succeeded, the model is then saved in the archives with the name Ex_Model2
  3. If the previous saving succeeded, the model is finally saved with the original name Ex_Model
  • If any saving phase fails, the file is not created in saving.
  • You can look for the saved file from the previous saving phases. For example, check if the model file workfile.vxm can be found in the user's work folder.
