Define Item Classes

General

  • This function is used to edit the classifications used by the program.
  • Classifications are used to group models, drawings, and items.
  • The classification system is three-step, the Main Group is divided into Subgroups, which is further divided into Classes.

Edit Classifications

  1. Select System | Databases | Classes.
    • The program opens the dialog box Item Classes - Item Database.
    • The dialog box has two tabs, Own Classes and System Classes.
  2. If necessary, search the database for the string to copy or delete.
    1. Click the column where you want to search for the string.
    2. Press the function key F7.
      • The program opens a dialog box Quick Find From Active Column.
    3. Enter the string you want to search for.
    4. Select Search [F3] or press the function key F3.
      • If a string is found in that column, the program jumps to the first row where the string is found.
    5. Repeat steps b..d to repeat the search, if necessary.
      • The program suggests searching for the same string
  3. If necessary, select the New button to add a new class.
    • The program opens the dialog box Create New Class and asks Copy active row?
      1. If necessary, select Yes, then the row data will be copied, but the Class column of the copied row will be cleared or
      2. select Add clear to fill, and the program adds an empty row.
  4. Add or edit data on the Own Classes tab.
    • Description: Description of the item, which appears in the parts list, for example.
    • Class: Class should preferably be a string that is suitable for both Finnish and English.
    • Sub Group: Divided into classes.
    • Main Group: Divided into sub-groups.
    • Further Details.
    • Snapshot: Browser image related to the item.
  5. Add or edit data on the System Classes tab.
    • Description: Description of the item in English.
    • Class.
    • Sub Group: English name of the subgroup.
    • Main Group: English name of the main group.
    • Further Details: Additional information in English
    • Snapshot: Browser image related to the item.
  6. If necessary, delete the class that your company does not need.
    1. Select the row to be deleted.
    2. Select the context-sensitive function Delete row.
      • The program marks the row you want to delete with an X.
      • The row will only be deleted from the class database (d_CLASS) when you save the changes you made to the database.
  7. Save the changes by clicking the OK button.
