Use the Original Material of a Part

General

  • The material assigned to a part in the part model with the function Rendering > Change Material changes the surface material of all surfaces of the part that have not been separately assigned a rendering material and serves as the general rendering material of the part.
  • Note that when you use a thread feature, for example, the feature brings its own rendering material to the surface of the cylinder.
  • With this function, you can restore the general (original) rendering material to the surface selected from the part.

Restore the original material of a part to a surface

  1. Select one or more volume faces.
    • Hold down the Ctrl key if you select more than one surface.
  2. Select the context-sensitive Rendering> Use Part Material function.

Restore the original rendering material of a part in an assembly

In an assembly, a part may have been given a rendering material that affects the part only in this assembly.

  1. Select one or more parts.
    • Hold down the Ctrl key if you select more than one part.
  2. Select the context-sensitive function Rendering> Revert Part Material.
