You can change, delete, and add structural layers or edit their heights in the dialog
box.
Dialog Box Options
- Change layer / Delete layer / Add new layer
- Select one of the following:
- Change layer - Define the data of the structural layer to be changed or edited, and
the new structural layer.
- Delete layer - Define the data of the structural layer to be deleted.
- Add new layer - Define the data of the reference layer and the new structural layer.
The reference layer is the structural layer next to which the new layer will be
added.
- Layer to be edited / Reference layer
- Define the data based on which the layer to be edited or reference layer is selected. A
layer to be edited is a structural layer which will be changed to another layer, deleted,
or the heights of which will be edited. A reference layer is the layer next to which a new
layer will be added.
- Define the type of the structural layer using the following selections:
- Select the Main type of the structural layer, for example Siding.
- If necessary, select a Specifier for the type, for example Brick or Boarding, or
Material. If you do not select a specifier or a material, all structural layers of the
main type will be included in the change operation.
- A wall may contain several structural layers of the same type. Define the location of
the structural layer using the following selections:
- Select one of the following Frame side options:
- All - All layers of the chosen type will be selected regardless of their
location.
- Inside - Only the layers inside the frame layer will be selected.
- Outside - Only the layers outside the frame layer will be selected.
- Specify the location by selecting one of the following Location options:
- All - All layers of the chosen type and on the chosen side of the frame will be
selected.
- Furthest from the frame - The layer furthest from the frame on the chosen side
will be selected.
- Nearest to frame - The layer nearest to the frame on the chosen side will be
selected.
- If the layer being searched for is the frame, its location does not need to be defined.
A wall may only contain one frame layer.
- The Merge layer check box is enabled when you have selected
Change layer, and the layer's type is
Siding. When you select the feature, a siding layer divided into
sections is merged, and the entire layer is changed.
- New layer
- Define the type and material of the new structural layer using the following
selections:
- Select the Main type of the structural layer, for example Siding.
- If necessary, select a Specifier for the type, for example Brick or Boarding.
- Select the Material of the structural layer.
- If necessary, tick the Edit Heights checkbox and enter the
heights of the structural layer in the Bottom Height and
Top Height fields. You can enter the heights in the following
ways:
- In relation to the building's floor base height (ZMASTER).
- As an adjustment to the current height by adding the letter d in front of a
numerical value. For example d-150 or d+150 (d0 retains the current height).
- You can also define just the height data, and the type and material of the layer being
edited will not be changed.
- If you are adding a new layer next to a reference layer (the Add new
layer option), select on which side of the reference layer the new layer
will be added:
- New layer to inner side of reference layer
- New layer to outer side of reference layer
