Distant Light Fixed in the Viewing Direction
Rendering
The distant light fixed in the viewing direction is intended to reduce completely black surfaces in visualization. You can create a distant light fixed in the viewing direction in your own library. If you add a distant light fixed in the viewing direction, the model's surfaces will appear lighter instead of dark (black) from the viewing direction.
In the example figure on the left, a distant light with an incoming direction from the front of the building and intensity of 0.8 is on in the model. On the right, a distant light fixed in the viewing direction with an intensity of 0.4 is also on.
Create a distant light fixed in the viewing direction in your own library as follows:
- Select System | Rendering Textures > Lights. The browser is opened.
- Select My Library.
- Select a folder in which to save the light, or create a new folder, if necessary.
- Move the cursor to an empty area in the right browser frame (thumbnail area).
- Right-click to open the function menu, and select New Light.
- Name the new light in the Create Light dialog box.
- Select Distant as the light type.
- Select the Location property, enter (0,0,0) in the field and click the Set button.
- Select the To property, enter (0,0,0) in the field and click the Set button.
- Confirm the data.
