Export Model with Drawings

You can compress an archived model, part or an assembly modeled with the modeler, and its drawings, into one VXZ transfer file

This is the only correct method of copying models together with their drawings between different Vertex systems.

Following data is compressed into a file:

  • Archive and revision data of models and drawings. Model or drawing files in accordance with a revision are not saved.
  • Model files and drawing files.
  • A local part of an assembly and a library component.
  • Users own library components that has been added to an assembly from library folder Shared/components. This applies to library components added as links (the component has the .L appendix).

Export a model with drawings as follows:

  1. Select > Export Save As Compressed File.
  2. One level or the entire structure can be compressed from an assembly. Define the transfer of an assembly model by using one of the following options:
    • Move This compresses the selected part and its drawings.
    • Move First Level compresses the main level of an assembly and its drawings.
    • Move Whole Assembly compresses the assembly and its substructures.
  3. Select the folder in which you wish to save the transfer file.
  4. Name the file. The default file type is Vertex Transfer file VXZ.
