Check the Size of the Panels

Framer

Transportation and installation, for example, can set certain limits for the panel sizes. If necessary, you can check that panels created whilst automatically generating panel breaks do not exceed these size limits.

  1. Select the panels.
  2. Select Panel | Panel | Update Check Oversized Panels. The Panel Size Limits dialog box opens.
  3. Enter the length limits and the size limit in the dialog box or accept the default values.
    • Exterior wall length limit - The maximum allowed length of an exterior wall panel. Panels exceeding the length limit are marked in the floor plan drawing.
    • Interior wall length limit - The maximum allowed length of an interior wall panel. Panels exceeding the length limit are marked in the floor plan drawing.
    • Panel size limit - The panel size limit check is applied to both the length and height of a panel. Panels with both dimensions exceeding the limit are marked in the floor plan drawing. If only one dimension exceeds the limit, the panel is not marked.
  4. Confirm by clicking OK.

    Any panels exceeding the length limit or the size limit will be highlighted in color in the model.

  5. If necessary, cut any panels that exceed the limits:
    1. Select a marked panel.
    2. Select the cutting point location.
    3. Proceed until the following message is displayed: Could not find oversized panels.
  6. Quit by pressing the Esc key.
Note:
  • Set the default values for size limits by adding the keyword panel_split_default to the system settings. Enter the comma-separated size limits within quotation marks as the keyword value, for example:

    panel_split_default = "8550,4275,3100"

    Type the size limits in the following order: exterior wall length limit, interior wall length limit, panel size limit.
