Customer-specific Environment

Vertex Sync

The Vertex Sync administrator can upload a custom environment from their disk to Vertex Sync, after which other users can enable the environment in Vertex BD.

There may be several environments, but only one environment at a time can be active for the user.

Upload a Customer-specific Environment to Vertex Sync

The function is available for the Vertex Sync administrator.

  1. Do either of the following:
    • Select Archives | Vertex Sync | Environments > Upload a New Environment to Sync the first time you upload the environment to Sync.
    • Select Archives | Vertex Sync | Environments > Upload a New Revision of the Environment to Sync when you upload the changed environment to Sync and want to create a new revision of it.

The Upload a New Environment to Sync dialog box opens.

  2. When you upload the environment for the first time, enter a name and description for the environment.
  3. Select the files that will be uploaded to the environment. By default all files are selected.
  4. Click Upload.

A window opens in the lower-right corner of the screen to display the progress of the upload. You can continue to work during the upload. When the upload is complete, the message "You may now close this window" appears in the window.

  5. Once the environment has been uploaded, you will receive a message: "Environment was successfully moved. The application will now be restarted." Confirm by clicking OK.

  6. Wait until the program starts.
  7. You will be prompted: “New environment “[name and revision of environment]” successfully applied! The application will now restart."
  8. Confirm by clicking OK.
