DWG Transfer Settings (import)

Defines the exact element conversions when a DWG file is imported to this software. The definitions are made on the tabs of the dialog box.

Setup

Defines the name of the setup file used in the conversion of the elements in a DWG file. Perform the conversion using an existing setup file or create a new one. When creating a new setup file, you must define a Vertex equivalent for each element type and property in the DWG file.

• Click the Create a new setup button, name the file and define the element conversions on the following dialog box tabs: Line widths, Layers, Line types, Text styles and Dimensions. Finally, accept the conversion by clicking OK.The new setup file is saved in the folder Custom/setup/DWG. If Custom file system is not in use, the file is saved in the Shared folder.
• Click the Activate an existing setup button, select the setup file in the list and accept the file import to this software by clicking OK.

Line Widths

Defines the line colors of a Dwg file as the Vertex line widths.

Layers

Defines corresponding Vertex layers for the layers in the Dwg file.

Line Types

Defines corresponding Vertex line types for the line types in the Dwg file. If the DWG file includes a lot of dashed lines, you can make the file conversion easier by enabling the fast drawing of dashed lines before you import the DWG file to Vertex.

Text Styles

Defines corresponding Vertex text styles for the text styles in the Dwg file.

Dimensions and Hatches

Defines corresponding Vertex dimensions and hatches for the dimensions and hatches in the Dwg file.
