Edit Label
Edit labels, plate texts and normal texts from an area specified with a rectangle. You can edit the whole label (text) or part of it but only one label type at a time.
- Do either of the following:
- Select Drawing tab > Update group > Edit Labels.
- Select Symbol tab > Wiring group > Edit Labels.
- Define the data of the labels to be edited in the dialog box.
- Type the character string in the Find what field. You can also
select Empty from the drop-down menu.
For example, if you wish to replace the ABC label with XXX label, fill in ABC in the field.
- Type the character string in the Replace with field. You can
also select Empty, Delete label or
Delete hidden part from the drop-down menu.
For example, fill in XXX in the Replace with field.
- Replace scope of the content
- Entire content - The software replaces only texts, that are completely same than the character string searched for. The whole text is replaced with the new character string.
- Substring - The software replaces the texts, that have somewhere the character string searched for. Only the substring searched for is replaced with the new character string.
- End / Beginning - The software replaces only texts, that have the character string searched for in the end or beginning. Only the end or beginning searched for is replaced with the new character string.
- You can define which entry matching the search criteria is replaced by selecting the Entry of replace. For example, if the entry number is 3, the third entry of the matching character string is replaced.

The function edits also the hidden parts, if Replace also in hidden part is selected.
- You can set the search case sensitive with Match case.
- The function finds also matches in the hidden layers, if Replace in all layers is selected. Otherwise the software asks, whether you want to replace texts also in the hidden layers.
- Select Replace text type. For example:
- Normal Text
- Device Label
- Contact Label / Fitting Label
- Text Label
- Cable label / Type label
- Wire label / Connection label
- Plate Text
- Other text
- Type the character string in the Find what field. You can also
select Empty from the drop-down menu.
- Select Replace.
- Click the rectangular area as follows:
- Click the lower left corner point.
- Click the upper right corner point.
- You can remove or add individual labels by clicking a label.
Replace empty text
Text cannot be completely empty, but its visible part may be empty if the text has a hidden part. The function's field has an option <empty>, that means a text with empty hidden part. As a default, texts, whose visible part is empty are not seen in the view. You can set them visible with a setting Mark Hidden Texts. Then the software illustrates the empty texts with a marking Pi.
