Stretch Geometry

Stretch or move elements inside the limited area in the drawing. You can limit the selection of elements, to lines only, for example.

You can select the elements to be stretched one by one, with an intersecting line, with a rectangle, or with a polygon. Lines, hatches and dimensions are stretched or shrunk, but texts will be moved. Define the stretching in relation to a reference point.

  1. On the tab, in the Line Tools group, click Stretch Geometry.
  2. You can limit the selection of elements by selecting only certain types of elements with the buttons in an additional menu.

  3. Select the element selection method with the button in the additional menu.

  4. Select the elements.
  5. Select the reference point in relation to which you will define the offset.
  6. Select a new location for the reference point.
  7. Select Confirm.

Note

  • If the 2D Constraint Manager is enabled, a dimension constraint may prevent stretching. You may temporarily remove the dimension constraint for stretching. Clear the Drives geometry checkbox in the dimension properties.
  • You can also stretch an individual element by moving the end point of the element by the handle.
