Save an Assembly as a New Document

When you are about to save an assembly as a new document and confirm the saving of link parts under new names, Vertex will automatically number the parts.

This requires that the automatic numbering of model documents is in use.

Parts in subassemblies and local parts are not saved.

This accessory affects the File> Save as New Document function.

Setup

  1. Open the Vertex directory System/autom_macros/DOCUMadd2_sample1 in Windows Explorer.
  2. Copy the files from these folders:
    • forms
    • macros - Contains the default settings file def_mod_id, which Vertex uses if you have not defined your own def_mod_id file.
  3. Paste the files into the folder Custom/macros.

    If the Custom folder does not exist in the file system, paste the file into the folder Shared/macros.

  4. Confirm by clicking OK.

The def_mod_id file must also be in the folder Custom/macros. If the file does not exist, Vertex will use the default value file def_mod_id_def.
