Position a Model on a Scalable Background Photo
Rendering
A scalable background photograph makes it easier to position the model in regard to the background photograph. The photograph can still be moved and scaled in regard to the model after the model has been positioned on the photograph.
The shading property of a scalable background photo is 'scbackfoto'. Because the background photo is also visible in the OpenGL shading mode, you can position the model using this mode.
Position the model using the Navigate function.
The points determining the position cannot be clicked in a perspective projection. Make sure, that Perspective is not selected in the Projection group on the tab before you position the model with the Navigate function.
Please note that add the background photograph before positioning the model in the background.
Position the model on the scalable background photograph as follows:
- On the tab, in the Projection group, click Isometric Navigate.
- Position the model in the same way as on a normal background photograph.
- You can control the background photo in regard to the model by reselecting the Navigate function.
- You can refine the model's positioning by moving the mouse a very little at a time.
- Left mouse button - Rotates the model in the plane.
- Middle mouse button - Rotates the model around the two points selected first.
- Right mouse button - Moves the model.
- Press the B key.
- Control the background photograph relative to the model as follows:
- Move the background photo one pixel at a time with the cursor keys Up, Down, Left and Right.
- Scale the background photo with the Page Up and Page Down keys.
- Finally, accept the position of the model on the background photograph by pressing the Esc key.
- If you want to further move or scale the background photo relative to the model, first select some other projection and then select the Navigate function.
- If the background photo is not visible in the model window and you have selected Shaded in the Render Style group on the tab as the drawing mode, the background photo is not of the sbackfoto type.
