Hide Geometry Behind or Inside a Model

Hiding the geometry behind or inside a model lightens the model.

You can utilize this function, for example, in drawings for large models, to make projection updates quicker. Position the model into a parallel projection and lighten it by hiding the geometry. Save the projection's geometry into its own configuration. Use the lightened projection in the model drawing.

Hiding geometry behind the model

Hides the volumes (parts) in the model that are not visible in the viewing direction.

  1. Set the model into the desired projection.
  2. Select View | Limiting | Hide Behind.

Hiding geometry inside the model

Hide geometry from a model when the model is viewed in several directions, i.e. as many as 10-20 directions. Geometry inside the model when viewed from these directions will be hidden. Note that some geometry will be left inside the model.

  1. Set the model into the desired projection.
  2. Select View | Limiting | Hide Inside.
Note: Restore the whole model into view by selecting the context-sensitive function Restore Hidden, or press Ctrl+Shift+H keys.
