View a Model

You can view a model in the working window in many different ways. Rotating and zooming the model allow closer inspection of the model. The model can be viewed as shaded or visualized, for example, with materials, reflections and shadows added to the model's surfaces.

When a part is selected in the feature tree, assembly structure tree or in the working window, it will be marked also in the foregoing locations.

Model Views

The following methods can be used to view a model in the working window:

View of the Model

You can also view the model in the working window by determining a viewing direction for the model. The model will then be set to the view determined by the direction. The model views include parallel, axonometric projection and perspective view. After selecting the viewing direction, you can rotate, pan and zoom the model again.

View in a New Window

You can zoom a view of the model into a new working window. This way, you can view the same model in several working windows, in different views and with different zooming.

Limiting Visibility in a Model

You can limit the visibility of model elements on a planar face in the direction of the coordinate axis X, Y or Z, when the model display method is shading. You can hide geometry from behind or inside the model in the viewing direction, and you can hide parts from the assembly.

Model Drawing Properties

Model drawing properties include the following:

The shading and visualization will be done according to the settings defined by the user. You can change the settings before shading or visualizing the model. In wire-frame mode, the wires on a shaded model will be colored with the colors of their materials.

The visualization settings will determine the shading method, the positioning of the image and the visualization speed. The shader properties are properties that can be used to make the model lighter, thus making drawing faster in the working window when the model is stationary, rotated, panned or zoomed.

You can edit the settings by selecting the Shaded or Rendering function from the Settings menu.
