Link an Item to a Profile or Component

General

  • The function is used when you want to link an item in the item database to a profile or component to be added.
  • Linking saves the correspondence of the dimension table row of the selected profile or component to the item found in the item database (d_COMPONENTS).
    • This information is stored in the database d_COMPONENTLINK.
  • As a prerequisite for linking, the cross-section of the profile or the dimension table of the component must be locked.
  • This instruction does not apply to the Vertex G4, which is connected to the product data management system Vertex Flow.
    • In Vertex Flow, the items with the values of the dimension variables are already connected to the models in the Flow.
  • The linking must be performed only once for each profile or component size. The next time, the program remembers to offer the items connected to this size.
  • Several items can be linked to the same size, which means that the items differ from each other, for example, in relation to the raw material.
    • For example, the size M10 of the DIN_EN_24032 nut can be matched by a yellow chromated, galvanized and stainless M10 nut with different stock items.
