Add a Light

Rendering

A model can contain several light types. The default lighting of a visualized model comprises the ambient light, distant light and eye light that have been assigned values. You can add lights to a model as follows:

  1. Select Rendering | Lights | Add. The browser is opened.
  2. Select a folder in the browser. The software supplier's lights are in the Vertex Library.

  3. Do either of the following:
    • Double-click the light's thumbnail.
    • Right-click on the thumbnail and select Select.
  4. Define the light properties in the dialog box.

    Distant, Point and Spot Light Properties

    Environment Light Properties.

  5. Confirm the data.

Note

  • The browser shows the My Library (user's lights) and Vertex Library (software supplier's lights).
  • You can edit and delete lights in the object tree or by using the function Rendering | Lights | Modify.
  • You can also add a light component from the component library to the model, see Add a Light Component.
  • You can also select this function in the object tree. Select the object tree title Rendering. Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu, and select Add Light.
