Adding Methods of Soffits

Select the method of adding the soffits from the auxiliary menu.

Horizontal Soffits

Add horizontal soffits to the eave as follows:

1. Select Add soffit to eave from the auxiliary menu.
2. If necessary, use the auxiliary function Offset to set the distance from the plane determined by the lowest point of the eave. Type the distance in a text box.
3. Select the eave.
4. Select corner points of the adding area.

   It is easiest to select the points in the 2D drawing of the roof. You can also select the points in the 3D model, in which case the cursor is locked to the horizontal plane running through the lowest point of the eave (or through the point at a distance defined by the offset from the lowest point of the eave).

   You can add a rectangle area by clicking just two points: the start and end points of the diagonal.

5. Select Confirm.

Soffits Parallel to the Slope

Add soffits parallel to the slope to the bottom of the slope as follows:

1. Select Add soffit to slope from the auxiliary menu.
2. If necessary, use the auxiliary function Offset to set the distance from the bottom surface of the slope. Type the distance in a text box.
3. Select the slope.
4. Select corner points of the adding area.

   It is easiest to select the points in the 2D drawing of the roof. You can also select the points in the 3D model, in which case the cursor is locked to the plane of the slope's bottom surface (or to the plane at a distance defined by the offset from the bottom surface).

   You can add a rectangle area by clicking just two points: the start and end points of the diagonal.

5. Select Confirm.

Soffits Using Selected Points

Add soffits to an area you define by selecting points.

1. Select Add soffit to roof from the auxiliary menu.
2. If necessary, use the auxiliary function Offset to set the distance from the plane determined by the points you will select. Type the distance in a text box.
3. Select the area.
4. Select corner points of the adding area.

   It is easiest to select the points in the 3D model. If you select the points in the 2D drawing, type the height position of each point in relation to the absolute origin in a text box.

5. Select Confirm.

Soffits Parallel to Selected Surface

Add soffits parallel to a surface you select as follows:

1. Select Add soffit to corner from the auxiliary menu.
2. If necessary, use the auxiliary function Offset to set the distance from the surface you will select. Type the distance in a text box.
3. Select the area.
4. Select the surface.
5. Select corner points of the adding area. You can select the points either in the 2D drawing or in the 3D model.
6. Select Confirm.
