Select a Special Framing Detail for an Opening
Framer
The default framings of door and window openings are defined in the project parameters. To select a detail that differs from the default for an opening in a specific wall or wall panel, edit the frame parameters of the wall or the panel. The change applies to all the openings in the wall or panel.
If you wish to select a detail for an individual opening, do the following:
- Do either of the following:
- Select Modeling | Panel | Wall Special Framing when using model-based wall panels.
- Select Classic Wall Framing | Wall Panelizing | Special Framing when using wall panels based on a panel drawing.
- Select one of the following:
- Add New Special Framing Detail
- Select a wall by clicking the wall's frame line in the floor plan.
- Select the opening detail, markings to be added to the floor plan as well as the sections and number of parts in the Opening Framing Parameters dialog box.
- Select the openings by clicking one of the opening's lines in the floor plan.
- Select Confirm.
- Edit Existing Special Framing Detail
- Select an opening by clicking one of the opening's lines in the floor plan.
- Edit the opening detail in the Opening Framing Parameters dialog box.
- Select the next opening, or quit by selecting Confirm.
- Delete Existing Special Framing Detail
- Select an opening by clicking one of the opening's lines in the floor plan.
- Confirm deleting the detail by selecting Yes.
- Select the next opening, or quit by selecting Confirm.
- Mark Openings with Special Details - The openings are highlighted in color in the floor plan. The color will be removed, when you select the function again, and select the Remove Markings option.
- Update All Special Detail Labels - Add or hide special detail
markings in the floor plan.
- Confirm the update by selecting Yes.
- Select the markings to be added or hidden in a dialog box.
