Generating a Combined Panel Drawing

Framer

You can include more than one panel in the same panel drawing. For example, you can combine a gable and the panel below it stacked on top of each other, or the panels forming a bay lined up in the same drawing. You can also create a combined panel drawing of all panels which are located side by side or on top of each other on the same wall line. A combined panel drawing is a flattened drawing. The panel drawing also includes a combined piece list, but the materials of the panels will be collected in the material report from single panel drawings. You cannot collect data from a combined panel drawing in the material report.

Before selecting the function, you need to close and save the open panel drawings if there are any.

  1. Select Classic Wall Framing | Panel Schedule Create Combined Wall Panel Drawing.
  2. Select the panels using either of the following methods:
    • You can select the panels to be lined up in the floor plan drawing. Select the panels by clicking them one by one. Finally, select the Confirm function.
    • Select the panels to be stacked or grouped according to wall lines by clicking the LIST button above the status bar. Select the panels from a list. If you cannot see the button, stretch the bottom edge of the Vertex window downwards.
  3. Select the type of the combined panel drawing from the list:
    • Stacked - The program creates the combined panel drawing and opens it in a drawing window.
    • Lined Up - Like above. The order of the panels in the combined panel drawing is determined by the floor plan.
    • Lined Up In Selection Order - Like above. The order of the panels in the combined panel drawing is determined by the order in which you select the panels in the floor plan.
    • Grouped - You will receive the prompt: "Replace old drawings?" Do either of the following:
      • Select Yes. The program creates the combined panel drawings by wall lines, and saves them in the project's wpcmp folder. If there already are files with the same names in the folder, they will be replaced with the new files. You can open the drawings by using the function > Open File.
      • Select Only Selected. The program creates the combined panel drawings by wall lines, and opens them in drawing windows.
  4. You can edit the opened panel drawings by moving overlapping texts and dimensions, for example. Save the drawing by selecting > Save or > Save As.
  5. Close the drawing window by clicking the Close button .
  6. You can later open the panel drawing by selecting > Open File.

Note

  • When the combined panel drawing is of the type Lined Up, you can define the space between the panels in the drawing with the panel_combine_gap keyword in the WALLS keyword group, for example:

    panel_combine_gap= 400
