Verify Distance

You can measure the minimum distance between two elements. The elements can be points, lines, or surfaces. By default, the function draws the shortest segment between the elements and the projections parallel to the X, Y and Z axes of this segment. In the dialog box, you will see the results of the measurement: the shortest distance and its projections, which you can copy to the clipboard if you wish. You can also select the unit of measurement for the results to be displayed. If you select more element pairs, their measurement results will be displayed in addition to the previous ones both in the model and in the dialog box. Measured distances are numbered and the numbers are displayed in both the model and the dialog box.

Verify distances as follows:

  1. Select Verify Distance from the tool strip.
  2. If necessary, change the measuring tool settings in the Verify Distance dialog box.
  3. Select the two elements to measure the minimum distance between them.
  4. Select more element pairs, if you wish.
  5. If you wish to clear the measurement results, select Clear.
  6. When you wish to quit measuring distances, select OK.
Note: Prior to version 2020, the measurement tool was an auxiliary function that could be used, for example, when adding parts or profiles without quitting the function. Starting from version 2020, the measurement tool works as a function of its own and it quits other functions. If you want to use the old measurement tool, you can add the VERIFYDIM 1 command to the context-sensitive pop-up menu. User’s Own Context-sensitive Menu
