Clean Up Unused Sync Working Copies
Vertex Sync
When you open a building from Sync, a copy of it is created in your local workspace. Any edits you make are applied to this working copy. After editing, you export the changed files of the building back to Sync. The working copy remains in your local workspace.
You can delete a working copy in the building browser by selecting Clean up Sync working copy from the right-click menu on the building. You can also set the program to notify you of unused working copies or to delete them automatically. The program will interpret a working copy as unused if at least 28 days have elapsed since its last use.
When you are signed in to Sync, you can configure how to handle unused working copies:

Clean up unused Sync working copies.The "Clean up unused Sync working copies" dialog box opens.
- Under Settings, select one of the following:
- Run clean up automatically in the background - The program automatically deletes unused working copies without any notification.
- Notify and ask to clean up - The "Clean up unused Sync working copies" dialog box opens, and you can select the working copies to delete. The dialog box opens when you start the program, are signed in to Sync, and the program detects unused working copies.
You can exit the "Clean up unused Sync working copies" dialog box without deleting the unused working copies. After this, the program detects unused working copies, but the dialog box does not open on each start. There is a two-day delay between opening the dialog box.
- No automatic clean up - The "Clean up unused Sync working copies" dialog box does not open, and working copies are not automatically deleted.
Delete working copies using the building browser function, or open the "Clean up unused Sync working copies" dialog box using the
Clean up unused Sync working copies function.
If there are no working copies to delete, close the dialog box and accept the setting with the OK button.
- Select the working copies to delete under Working copies on this device. Select the checkbox
for the working copy to delete.In the list, working copies are marked with the following colors:When Show tip texts is selected and you move the cursor over a working copy row in the list, a tip text will provide information about the working copy's status.
Green Active working copy (not unused) that is up-to-date in Sync. 
Peach The working copy may contain unsynchronized changes. If you delete the working copy, the changes will be lost. 
Pink The working copy is not active, and it will be automatically deleted if Run clean up automatically in the background is selected. 
Light gray The working copy is open in Vertex BD and cannot be deleted. - Confirm by clicking OK. You will be prompted: "Clean up selected Sync working copies from this device?"
- Select either of the following:
- OK - The working copies are deleted, and the "Clean up unused Sync working copies" dialog box closes. Deleting a working copy does not delete anything from Sync. You can reopen the building from the Sync service, which will recreate a working copy in the local workspace.
- Cancel - The working copies are not deleted. The "Clean up unused Sync working copies" dialog box remains open. You can close the dialog box by clicking Cancel.
