Close a Building Opened from Sync
Close an active building by selecting File > 
Close building or Archives | Buildings | Close.
Once you are logged in to Vertex Sync, you can push a building opened from Sync back to Sync.
- Click Upload to upload the building with its changes to Sync. Select whether you want to make a new revision or overwrite the old one.
- Overwrite existing revision [revision number] - A new revision is not created in Sync. The revision number remains unchanged.
- Create a new revision - A new revision is created. The revisions are numbered according to the numbering system selected in the Sync service.
If necessary, enter a description of the changes in the Check-in comment field. Upload the building to Sync by clicking Upload to Sync.
A preview image of a building is generated each time the building is synchronized. The preview image is generated from the view in the model window at the time of synchronization. The preview image is displayed in the building browser and in the Vertex Sync browser interface.
In addition, a model in GLTF format (GLB file) is automatically generated from the building model. GLTF is a standardized data transfer format for 3D models shared in browser-based applications. You can open the model for viewing in the Vertex Sync browser interface.
Note: If a building has already been moved to Vertex Sync, the operation does not move the entire building again, but only the new and changed files are synchronized. - Click Save working copy to save the building to the local workspace. The building will not be uploaded to the Sync service. The next time you open the building, the working copy saved in the workspace will open, with the changes saved.
- Click Don't save to close the building without saving the changes. The next time you open a building, the last working copy that was saved in the workspace opens.
If you close the building without uploading it to Sync, you will be prompted: "Building [building id] changes are not pushed to Sync. Release reservation of building?" Select either of the following:
- Yes, - The building will be released in Sync. Another user can open, edit, and upload the building to Sync. This will cause you to lose the changes you made to your working copy. If you have enabled notifications, you will be notified of actions taken by another user, see Notifications.
- No - The building will remain reserved for your username. Another user can open the building, but cannot upload it to Sync. You can continue to modify the building by reopening the building.
