Edit a 2D Component Saved in the Library
Open the 2D component saved in the library to the drawing window to edit.
- Select Vertex , and select Browse. Browser - Archives
- You can edit the dimension table of the component only, or edit the component's geometry with certain limitations.
- If you want to add dimension constraints also or delete dimension constraints, Create a New Component.
You can edit the component geometry in a limited fashion as follows:
- Select a component in the library Browser - Archives
- Edit the dimension table by double-clicking the component in the drawing window.
- If you wish to edit the geometry, first save the component's dimension table in a file by clicking the Export button in the dimension table.
If you skip this phase, the dimension table will be removed from the component.
- In order to edit the geometry, convert the component into a group by selecting the Explode Component function.
- Remove Groups from the selection filter so that you can edit the group geometry. If even one dimension constraint is removed from the geometry, it will be impossible to return the dimension table data to the component.
The number of dimension constraints and their variables must be exactly the same as in the component you selected for editing.
- Once the geometry is finished, create a drawing specific component from it by selecting the Create Component function.
- Open the component's dimension table for editing and return the component's dimension table data saved earlier by clicking the Import button.
- Save the component to the library by selecting the Save Component function.
