Edit a Subassembly
Open the subassembly selected from an assembly to editing in the same working window. The rest of the geometry of the assembly is displayed as a wireframe around the selected subassembly.
Edit the subassembly by pasting a new part, create a new part in the subassembly, or define geometric constraints, edit drawing of the subassembly or create a new one.
You can copy, cut, delete, move or paste a part selected in the subassembly. You can edit the geometry, properties (limited), and the drawing of the part, or create a new one.
- Open the subassembly to be edited.
- To a new window - Select the name of the subassembly from the assembly tree, and then the context-sensitive function Open model.
- To be edited in the assembly - Double-click the subassembly symbol in the assembly tree, or select the context-sensitive function Edit.
- Edit the model as following:
- Edit the subassembly, for example, add a part, create a new part, determine geometric constraints, etc.
- Select a part in the sub assembly, and edit the part. As an example, copy, add part, edit part geometry, etc.
- Do either of the following:
- Save the edited subassembly by clicking OK.
- To discard the changes, click Cancel.
Note:
- You can select a subassembly from the assembly tree by clicking a part belonging to it while pressing the Alt key. The next-level assembly becomes selected instead, if the part is not at the currently edited assembly level. If there are several intermediate levels and you wish to select one of them, press the Alt key and reclick the same part.
