Component Classes
Edit the preselection options of the item classification data. You can select the item classification data, for example, when defining the item data or the document's archives data, in the Main Class, Subclass and Class fields.
The classification data of the software vendor's components are organized on the System Classes tab. Items linked to the class are displayed in the Item Database window. The component's item data is automatically retrieved from the classification data when the component is being added. The component's parts list data is generated based on this data.
You can edit and add your own classification data on the Own Classes tab of the dialog box. An existing class can be renamed or a new one created. You can link items to a new class by adding them into the Item Database window.
Edit the classification data:
-
On the tab, in the Databases group, click Classes.
- Select Own classes tab.
- Edit the data:
- Rename the contents of an existing Class field. The items linked to the old class are moved to items of the renamed class.
- Add a new row in the database by clicking the New button and define the data.
We do not recommend copying classes in order to avoid mix-ups.
- If you wish to remove a classification, move the cursor over the desired row and click Delete.
- Edit the data of the Item database:
- Add an item to a class by adding a new row to the database.
