Save an Imported Model as a Tool

A part created using other CAD software can be imported in the SAT, STEP, or IGES format. Define the entire geometry of the part as a tool.

1. Open a part model in the working window.
2. Select the part and then select the context-sensitive function Properties.
3. Select Tool in the Type section.
4. Select OK.
5. Save the part in the feature library or the component library, depending on its use.
