Save as New to Archives
General
- You can use this function when you want to
- Save a document already in the archive with a new label to the archive.
- You want to save an unnamed new document to the archive.
- When you want to save an imported document to the archive.
- If certain auxiliary programs are in use, you can also save the assembly model and all its link parts and subassemblies as new documents in the active project.
- However, subassembly parts and local parts are not renamed.
- This results in similar parts or assemblies being found in the archive with different labels, which is considered to be harmful for inventory management.

- If necessary, the so-called Project Management Tools option available, which allows all parts of the assembly to be saved as new documents with the desired naming convention.
- This kind of functionality is used in project deliveries, when equipment previously delivered to one customer is used as a basis for designing modified equipment for a new customer.
Save the model or drawing as a new document
- Select File > Save as New or
- Select File > Save as New > Save as New.
- If the model drawings are open, the program will ask: Close open workdrawings?
- If necessary, close the drawings by answering Yes to the question.
- Define the data of the new document in the dialog box.
- Enter a name for the document in the Label field.
- Fill in the archives data of the document by clicking Arc. Data.
- Select To Project when you save a document for a specific project.
- Activate an existing project by clicking the Select button, or create a new project by clicking the New button.

- Select OK.
- The program renames the model.
- The program opens the model drawings one at a time and updates the new label to their title blocks, saves and closes the drawings.
