Stretching a Suspension Rod or Secondary Support

Piping Design

Stretch or shorten the length of the support rod that has been added to the assembly.

  • Primary support suspension rod
  • Secondary support suspension rod

Proceed as follows:

  1. On the tab, in the Fastening group, click Edit (=spanner symbol), and select Stretch Support Rod or Beam.
  2. Use points to indicate the area within which you wish to stretch the geometry.

The area can include more than the one rod/support you would like to stretch by the same amount.

  3. Indicate a reference point for the displacement.

  4. Indicate the displacement in either of the following ways:
    • Specify the displacement as a distance.

For example, place the ruler along the X, Y or Z axis and enter the distance value in relation to the selected reference point.

    • Place the ruler and indicate the displacement by selecting a point elsewhere in the geometry.
  5. Confirm the displacement.
  6. Update the length into support data.
    • Lengthen - Click the +D button.
    • Shorten - Click the -D button.
  7. Select OK.
