Pipeline Data

You can enter line-specific design data on a pipeline with a position label. The data is entered through the item data of the individual pipe part selected from the pipeline.

  1. Enter the line position for the pipeline if it has not already been entered.
  2. Select one part from the pipeline and open its item data using one of the methods shown below.
    1. Select Item Data from the context-sensitive menu.
    2. From the context-sensitive menu, select Item Data in Model when Flow's item structures are enabled by default (system setting partslist_in_cad=0).
    3. On the Piping tab, select Item Data. The pushbutton is active if the pipeline is editable and Flow's item structures are not used by default (system setting partslist_in_cad=1).
  3. On the Item Data card, select the button Line position on the top row.
  4. A new card opens. Enter the line data on the card and use the OK button to save the data.

The line data is also stored in the project-specific d_151 database used by PI diagram design. If you are using PI diagram design and the line data is ready, the program will directly use this data. The data changed through the model on the line card is also updated directly to the project diagram data.

If you use the Vertex Flow system, the line data is stored as device card in Flow. Even in this case, an existing line device card will be used if one is found.

Note: In version 29.0 or earlier, the line data entered through the 3D model was stored under the project in a separate database d_POSITIONDATA. If that database is found in the project directory, the program will continue to use it to store and read line data. The button Update data from project's PI diagram data shown on the card that opens with the Line position button also only works with the older d_POSITIONDATA database.
