Edit the IFC Conversion Rule Library
IFC Converter
You can save rules to define how the IFC objects will be converted to Vertex BD objects in the conversion rule library.
- Select System | IFC > IFC Conversions, and move the cursor to the folder section of the libraries.
- Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu, and select New Library.
- Enter a name for the library, and select OK.
- Move the cursor to the section of the conversion rules, right-click to open the context-sensitive menu and select one of the following:
- New wall conversion rule
- New profile conversion rule
- New floor, ceiling and roof conversion rule
- New common conversion rule
- New type conversion rule
- Enter a label for the new rule in the “Setting Name?” dialog box and click OK.
- Define the conversion rules in the Create Conversion Rule dialog box.
- Save by clicking OK.
Note:
- You can return to edit the conversion rule. Double-click the rule, or select the rule, right-click to open the context-sensitive menu and select Edit.
- You can create a new rule by copying an existing one. Select the rule, right-click to open the context-sensitive menu, and select Copy.
- You can change the rule label. Select the rule, right-click to open the context-sensitive menu and select Rename.
- You can delete the rule. Select the rule, right-click to open the context-sensitive menu, and select Delete.
Note: You can add new rules and edit the exising rules also when converting IFC objects to Vertex BD objects. New rules will be saved in a building-specific conversion rule library. You can recognize a building-specific conversion rule library from the [P] symbol.
