Building-specific IFC Conversion Rule Library

IFC Converter

You can create new building-specific rules for converting IFC objects to Vertex BD objects.

Select one or more IFC objects.
Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
Select Build Vertex Part from IFC.
Select Create conversion rule.
Select the rule type and define the conversion:
- Wall - Wall Conversion Rule
- Profile - Profile Conversion Rule
- Floor, ceiling or roof - Floor, Ceiling and Roof Conversion Rule
- Common - Common Conversion Rule
Confirm by clicking OK.
Type a name for the conversion rule.
Select the row of the object to be converted in the list.
Select the rule you added from the Conversion list, and click Convert.

The new rule is saved in the building-specific conversion rule library. When you select a conversion rule, you can recognize a building-specific conversion rule library from the [P] mark. The library is only available in the building in question. You can delete a library by editing the conversion rule library when the project is open, or by deleting the library's folder in Windows File Explorer. The folder is located in the building's complibs folder: ../shared/projects/building_name/complibs/ifc_conversion_proj.
