Delete IFC Objects

IFC Converter

An IFC model imported into a building model may contain objects that are not needed in the design process and that may complicate modeling. By default, it is not possible to delete individual IFC objects, but if necessary, you can enable a feature that allows them to be deleted. When the feature is enabled, you can select an object from the IFC model and press the Delete key to delete it. After you have deleted the unnecessary objects, it is recommended to turn off the feature to prevent incorrect deletions.

To enable the feature, edit the properties of the IFC model.

  1. Do either of the following:
    • Select the function in the object tree

Open the External models branch of the object tree and select the IFC model (ifc file). Right-click and select Properties.

    • Select the function in the building model

Select an object in the IFC model. Right-click and select IFC model > Properties.

  2. Select Allow deleting individual IFC objects.
  3. Confirm by clicking OK.
Note: You can delete the entire IFC model with the function Delete an IFC Model.
