Save a Building

Save an active building in one of the following ways:

  • Select > Save Building.
  • Press Ctrl+S.

When a building is saved, its 2D drawing, 3D model and databases are saved in the building folder.

The saves to keep

Previous saves of the building are also kept. The number of saves to keep is defined in the BDSXX keyword group with the max_building_versions keyword. You can delete all the old saves and keep only the latest save when closing a building.

Autosave

In addition to the saves made by the user, one or more automatic saves of the building are stored. You can set the autosave frequency and the number of autosaves, see Autosaving a Building.

Note:
  • During saving, the program will automatically check whether there are overlapping building components in the building. If overlapping components are found, the program will display an error message and asks the user to select the Check Building Component Interference function in order to locate and remove them.
  • When you save the building, the program saves preview images of the building model MODEL.vxm and framing model FRAMING.vxm into BMP files in the building folder.
  • When a building, model or drawing is saved, the system automatically checks the integrity of the object model. When the model is checked, it is possible to fix the errors that may occur in the models created with previous program versions, for example. If the model contains errors, they will be listed in a dialog box. Close the dialog box by clicking OK, after which you can choose whether to fix the errors or not.
