Save as New Building

Select the desired building components in the model window of the open building, and save them as a new building in the local building archive or in the Vertex DesignStream system. You can open the building and continue designing it, or you can add the building as a sub model to another building.

  1. Activate the model window.
  2. Select the building components. For example, you can select a floor of the building or another entity modeled in the building.

  3. Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
  4. Select Advanced > Save as New Building.

    The New Building dialog box opens.

  5. Define the building data in the dialog box.

Note:
  • The original building remains open. You can open the newly created building from the building archive.
  • When you want to save the building in the Vertex DesignStream system, retrieve the building id from the DesignStream system (you can replace the automatically generated id with the id of your choice). The building will be checked-in to DesignStream system, but a copy of it will remain in the local building archive. Delete the building stored in the local archive, after which you can open the building from the DesignStream system. The Vertex DesignStream data management system is a separate product that requires customer-specific fitting.
