Profile Conversion Rule

Define a rule for converting IFC profiles to Vertex BD profiles in the Create conversion rule dialog box. The conversion is performed using either the Convert IFC Objects to Vertex Objects or Convert the Selected IFC Object to a Vertex Object function.

Select profile

Click Select profile, and select a profile from the profile library to which the selected IFC profiles or IFC profiles that meet the search criteria will be converted. In conversion, the center line of the profile remains in place.

Use

Enter the use of the profile in the Use field.

Twist

Rotate the profile around its longitudinal axis by entering a value in the Rotate field.

Mirror

Mirror the profile by selecting Mirror.

Offset X direction

Enter an offset in the x axis direction of the cross section in the Offset X direction field.

Offset Y direction

Enter an offset in the y axis direction of the cross section in the Offset Y direction field.

Property conversions

You can select an IFC object property to copy to the Vertex part during conversion. The property conversions you can select depend on the object type.

Property conversions available for a profile:

• Type
• Use
• Function
• Mounting

Activate the property transformation in the list, and select values ​​from the lists of the IFC property set and IFC property name fields. You can also select the property from the model. Right-click, select Select from model and click the IFC object in the model. The properties of the object open in a list. Select the desired property from the list.
