Door/Window Conversion Rule

IFC Converter

Define a rule for converting IFC windows or doors to Vertex BD windows or doors in the Create conversion rule dialog box. The conversion is performed using either the Convert IFC Objects to Vertex Objects or Convert the Selected IFC Object to a Vertex Object function.

Note:
  • The conversion of windows and doors requires that the object type IfcWall, to which the openings belong, is first converted to a Vertex wall.
  • IfcSlab-type openings are currently not supported.
Select window/door

Click Select window/door, and select the window/door from the library to which the selected IFC windows/doors or the IFC windows/doors that meet the search criteria will be converted. The window/door size will be determined by the IFC model.

Opening width offset
You can increase the width of the opening. Enter the dimension in the Opening width offset field. The dimension will be divided equally between the two edges of the opening.
Opening height offset
You can increase the height of the opening. Enter the dimension in the Opening height offset field. The dimension will be divided equally between the two edges of the opening.
Property conversions
You can select an IFC object property to copy to the Vertex part during conversion. The property conversions you can select depend on the object type.
Property conversions available for windows/doors:
  • Code
  • OpeningSheetLabel
  • UValue
Activate the property transformation in the list, and select values ​​from the lists of the IFC property set and IFC property name fields. You can also select the property from the model. Right-click, select Select from model and click the IFC object in the model. The properties of the object open in a list. Select the desired property from the list.
