Part Data

Define the part data for the parts lists.

  • Attach part data associative to the element you select in the drawing.
  • As an element you can select a part number, line, hatch or a symbol.
  • If you later remove an element from a drawing, also the part data attached to an element is removed.

The use of a part data is determined by the type of the attribute database that can be selected when defining the part data. Several attribute databases can be in use. You can define different types of attribute data for the same element.

Note

  • Select tab, Properties. Those elements, whose attribute type is same as the type of the attribute database selected, are illustrated in the drawing.

    In green color for example.

When you wish to view elements of a certain attribute type, change the type of the database, and then select Edit Element Attribute Database.

Part Data in the Diagram Design

By using the functions Part Data and Device Data you can edit the parts list database of the element, from where the data is collected to the device list.

Device Data

  • The function Device Data moves the code data of the symbol to the database on it's own line, if the parts list database does not exist already.

The Part Data function does not do it.

  • If the database of the element exists, the code data is not used.
  • If the symbol has only the code but not a parts list database, code data is collected to the device list.

Edit the Part Data

The Vertex ED add-on option in use determines what kind of data can be defined for a part.

Generally, the type of the database will be selected automatically accordingly to the function you select in Vertex.

  1. Select Material and Attribute Data> Edit element attribute database.
  2. Select the symbol.
  3. Add or delete part data in the element attribute database (part data).
  4. Select OK.

Note

  • If the symbol has only the code but not a parts list database, code data is collected to the device list.
  • If the database of the element exists, the code data is not used.
