Adding a WWW Component

Library

The software can utilize stock libraries assembled by component suppliers, importing parts and assemblies to the design system in STEP SAT and IGES formats. You can load a component from a Web page and save it in the component library of this software. You can then add the component to the assembly in the same way as you can add a part, and position it accurately in the assembly using geometric constraints.

Add the WWW component to the assembly as follows:

  1. Select the context-sensitive function Add > Component.
  2. Select a folder.
  3. Do either of the following:
    • Select a thumbnail representing the component from the library by double-clicking it with the left mouse button.
    • Import the new component by selecting the URL of the component supplier and downloading the component from the component supplier's homepage. Continue by saving the component in Vertex's component library.
  4. If necessary, rotate the component and/or change the insertion point.
  5. Select a position for the component by clicking, or select several positions if you wish to add more than one copy of the component in the assembly.
  6. Select Confirm.
