Rotate part in an assembly

This function can be used to rotate a part in an assembly around its center point. If the part belongs to a subassembly, the entire subassembly will rotate.

Parts/subassemblies that are fixed or positioned with geometric constraints cannot be rotated.

  1. Select the part.
  2. Hold down Ctrl+Shift+left mouse button.
  3. At the same time, move the mouse down, up, left and right.
  4. Stop rotating by releasing the keys and the mouse button.
Note:
  • A part or an assembly will rotate, if there is no more than one geometric constraint added to its point, for example the Coincident constraint, which is often automatically created when a part/assembly is added.
