Note Properties

Defines the text properties in the model or in the sketch of a part model. When adding or editing text, the text properties are defined in this dialog box. You can edit an existing text by selecting it and then selecting the context-sensitive function Properties or by double-clicking the text.

Dialog Box Options

Text
Type the text in the Text field. You can enter more than one line. Create a line break by pressing the Enter key. Select the insertion point for the text by clicking the radio button. You can align the text or center it. When adding new text, the effect of the insertion point is evident only after you have pointed a location for the text. During text editing, the text location in the sketch changes as you change the insertion point in the dialog box.
Mark
Defines a special character to be inserted in the Text field. Click the button and select a special character. It will be added to the string at the location of the cursor when the function is selected.
Height
Defines the height of the text in millimeters. The height's effect depends on the scale. If the fixed height is 3 and the scale is 1:1, changing the scale to 1:10 will make the height appear tenfold.
Angle
Defines the angle of the text. When text is added, the default angle value is 0.
Tolerance
Not available.
Precision
Not available.
Curvature
Defines the radius of a curved text. A positive curvature creates an upward opening arc (smiling) and a negative a downward opening arc (frowning). The point that is at a distance defined by the curvature from the text's center point defines the center point of the curved text. The reference point of a curved text functions just like normal text. Only available in sketch mode.
Scale
Defines the scale of the text in the sketch.
Layer
Defines the layer onto which the text is added. Not available in sketch mode.
Color
Defines the color of text. Not available in sketch mode.
Line Width
Defines the line width of the text. Not available in sketch mode.
Width
Defines the relative width of the character. The character width is given as a factor. The character is narrowed when the factor is between 0 and 1. The character is widened when the factor is larger than 1.
Letter spacing
Defines the distance between letters. Letter spacing is a factor that has an effect on the distance between characters and its default value is 0. Letter spacing is relative to the character height. Letter spacing can also be negative, in which case the characters will overlap each other.
Relocate
This function is available during text editing only in sketch mode. If you select this checkbox, you can relocate the edited text in the sketch and rotate or mirror it as necessary.
Boxed
This function will draw a box around the text. Not available in sketch mode.
Font
Defines the used font. Only available in sketch mode.
