Add a Text to a Sketch

You can add texts to a sketch. The text font affects the options available for the operation performed on the sketch. If the characters can be converted into closed polylines when the sketch is accepted (for example characters in Arial font), extrusion and revolve are available for the sketch.

  1. Select Sketch | Note | Text. More options...Less options...
    • (OR) Select the context-sensitive function Add Annotation.
  2. Edit the data in the Note Properties dialog box.
  3. Select OK.
  4. Select an auxiliary function for positioning the text, if necessary. You can, for example, rotate the text or mirror it.
  5. Select the position of the text.
  6. Add more texts by repeating steps 2-4 or finish adding texts by selecting Cancel.
Note:
  • You can edit an existing text by selecting it and then selecting the context-sensitive function Properties or by double-clicking the text. In edit mode you can relocate the text by selecting the Relocate checkbox in the dialog box.
  • Text cannot be positioned by geometric constraints.
